How to make simple skin gradients with Paint.NET
This tutorial will show you how to make simple skin gradients with Paint.NET, whic is a free image editor.
Step 1
Open Paint.NET
Step 2
File -> New. Set the width to 100px and the height to 30px. Change the drop-down box at the top from "Window" to "500%". Give the background any color you want.
Step 3
Add a new layer by going Layers -> Add New Layer. Use the tool found at the very top left and mark the lower 2/3 of the image and fill that section with a color that is similar to the color you added in Step 2.
Step 4
Add another new layer in the same way as you did in Step 3, but this time, only mark the lower 1/3 of the image fill that section with a color that is similar to the color you added in Step 3.
Step 5
Flatten the image by goingImage -> Flatten
Step 6
Blur the image by going Effects -> Blurs -> Guassian Blur. Set the blur to 30 pixels (or check it until it looks good for you) and click "ok".

You can of course add as many layers as you want in diffferent colors and directions. It is all up to you. There is no limit to the number of ways this is possible.
